Remix and share your first config

8 min

The community loop

Latent's Share tab is a library of real configs from real builds. The loop that makes it valuable:

  1. Take — download a config that is close to what you want.
  2. Change — rename the device, adjust pins for your board, tune an interval.
  3. Verify — flash it, watch the logs, confirm it behaves.
  4. Give back — publish your variant with the Remix button, describing what you changed and why.

What makes a config worth publishing

  • It ran on real hardware. Say which board, which day, what worked.
  • The description names the gotchas. "Screen stays black unless GPIO46 is driven" saves the next person an evening — write those down.
  • Secrets stay out. Keep !secret references; never paste real passwords. Public configs are unlimited on every plan, including Free.
  • Tags help search. csi, camera, xiao-s3, beginner — three or four honest tags.

Remixing etiquette

A remix automatically links its source config — lineage stays visible, and that is a feature: a config with ten remixes is a config ten people verified. Improve, credit, republish.

Your assignment

Take the Pocket Camera Node config, change the device name and resolution, flash it, and publish your first remix. That single act — verified change, shared back — is the entire culture of this platform.
