Read the protocol first
The LoRa protocol v1 is a 60-byte packet: 13-byte envelope (version, msg_type, sender_id, seq, time offset) + 47-byte event payload (tag, severity, compartment, quantized motion stats, 8-d latent vector) + truncated HMAC. Understanding it makes every following step obvious.
