How it works
Breathing moves the chest in a slow, steady rhythm the signal can feel, just as already proven with people. Cud-chewing has its own, even slower cycle. Sickness makes breathing fast and shallow and stops the chewing — a shift the mesh notices hours before any human eye would.
In the physics: Thoracic expansion and rumen contractions modulate the chest wall position by cm-scale at 0.1-0.5Hz (breathing) and ~0.02-0.03Hz (rumination cycles), phase-modulating the reflected CSI exactly like the proven human breathing band. Fever/respiratory distress raises rate and shallows depth, shifting the Doppler line.
