Every person in a room disturbs the WiFi field — moving, and even just breathing. The system counts those disturbances and compares the count with the badge system. Two people through one badged door, or someone still inside after everyone badged out, sets off the alarm.

In the physics: Each additional human body adds distinct Doppler energy and independent breathing components (0.1-0.5Hz) to the CSI stream; occupancy count correlates with aggregate motion-band energy and the rank of the dynamic CSI subspace (already r=0.9).
