Ghost-in-the-Cage: Through-Wall Colo Cage Intrusion
Detects and tracks anyone moving inside a locked cage — sensed from outside it.
The physics is solid; our own validation is scheduled.
How it works
The human body is mostly water and reflects WiFi waves strongly, and cage mesh weakens but does not stop those waves. So a person moving inside the cage disturbs signals that cross it, and the system follows their position from nodes outside. No camera ever enters the tenant's private space.
In the physics: A moving human body (~60% water, large RCS at 2.4/5GHz) modulates multipath amplitude and phase on links crossing the cage volume; steel cage mesh attenuates but does not block 2.4GHz Fresnel zones, and the body's Doppler shift (0.5-3Hz bulk motion) survives NLOS propagation.

Through-wall LOS/NLOS AUC 0.69 and presence detection already proven (ESP32-wall + OPERAnet); own-hardware: 6x ESP32 around a real server cage, scripted entries vs. empty baseline, measure detection AUC and RTI localization error vs. floor markings.

Camera-free cage intrusion detection for colo operators whose tenants contractually ban video inside cages — sold to the colo facility security director as 'guard coverage where cameras are forbidden by physics-grade privacy'.
