How it works
The foil bags that defeat security gates are made of metal — and metal reflects WiFi far more strongly than any shopper's body. Walking one through the entrance adds a reflection no ordinary person makes. The trick that beats the old system is exactly what the new one sees.
In the physics: A foil-lined bag is a walking Faraday scatterer: metal (sigma very high) produces anomalously strong specular reflection and shadowing utterly unlike a body of water-equivalent tissue. As it transits the portal, CIR taps show reflection amplitudes and polarization behavior inconsistent with any human-only baseline.
